Project: Mexico SECTUR Adventure Travel Development

Project Details

In Mexico, thousands of small tour operators offer incredible opportunities for travelers to connect with unique cultures and nature-based adventure, but they often do not have the capital, technology, or networks to spread the word and grow their companies.

With Xola Consulting, Jess interviewed government, tribal, and community stakeholders to identify a strategy to develop the ‘Nature and Adventure Route’ through three Mexican states and highlighting scores of local operators. With the support of Mexico’s Secretary of Tourism (SECTUR,) she supported Xola to build a comprehensive plan for the development of Mexico’s key adventure, nature, and cultural travel resources to support small business owners and indigenous groups with this decentralized sustainable tourism network.
